Lord Jesus, we come before You today to intercede for friends and family who either don’t know You and find themselves in detrimental places of their own choosing. We pray that You would help them to recognize the rescue that You send them. If they have intentionally taken paths in life that have led them out of Your will, we stand in the gap and intercede for them as You live to intercede for us.
Holy Spirit, keep us from becoming desensitized to open and rampant sin around us. May we not be afraid to stand out as Spirit-led people who can differentiate good from evil and virtue from wicked. Keep us from being sanctimonious and help us to realize that it is ridiculous to try and negate one sin by committing what we consider another lesser sin.
Father God, we pray that You would blind the enemy as he exhausts himself trying to menace us and our loved ones. Keep us from unknowingly helping his cause with ideas and intellect that do not find their source in You. Deliver us from our own ignorance and remind us that all sin is a stench in Your nostrils.
Holy Spirit, lead us in all truth in our day-to-day lives and help us to live in such a way that our influence for Your kingdom is real. We are only broken vessels used by You and we acknowledge that You alone are perfect. May our loved ones who do not know You personally receive the gift of Your salvation when it is sincerely presented to them, despite our broken lives.
Lord Jesus, You were without sin, even though You were tempted in all ways just like us. Rescue us from our own hesitation to flee from sin. Keep us from negotiating our rescue with You. May our obedience to You be immediate and complete.
Help us to remember, Lord Jesus, that You rescued us from death itself. There is nothing that we have left behind that holds more value than life with You. Keep us from looking back and longing for what is worthless now and will still be worthless tomorrow.
Remind us again, Holy Spirit, that we do not face anything in life where a decision has to be made without coming to You first in prayer. May we be humble enough to ask You for Your plans first before going ahead with our own. Open our eyes to see that we do not exist in isolation. Our sin does not only affect our own lives, but literally affects all life that we come in contact with.
Father, Son, and Spirit, we thank You for revealing to us that You care deeply about the people we care about. There is no place on earth that is so far away that You cannot send help to reach and rescue them. Help us to never get tired of praying for them. May the testimony of Jesus in our lives be a beacon that draws them out even as we now speak!
