Ephesians Six

E

Lord Jesus, we pray that we would remember the importance of honor in all our relationships, regardless of whether we find ourselves in superior or subordinate positions with each other. May we consecrate every relationship to You, knowing that when we have a servant’s heart towards You, it ultimately translates into having a servant’s heart in our relationships towards each other.

Keep us from taking advantage of others and keep others from taking advantage of us in all areas of our life, but especially where we find ourselves at work on a day to day basis. Remind us that our ultimate work is to do Your will and that all our work is for You and Your glory, rather than for people. May we work knowing that You reward each one of us for the work we do, even the work that goes unnoticed by earthly eyes.

Holy Spirit, keep us strong in the Lord Jesus and His mighty power knowing that we have been fully equipped to take our stand against the schemes of the enemy and fight every ruler, authority, and power of darkness and evil in the heavenly realms. Open wide our spiritual eyes to see that our struggles are not against flesh and blood; open them even wider to inform us if we have left any open doors for the enemy’s attacks because of pride, envy, shame, unforgiveness, bitterness, and anger.

Show us how to use every piece of God’s armor to resist the devil in such a way that we are still left standing firm after we have done everything to stand. Help us to stand our ground using the belt of truth to hold everything together in place over the breastplate of righteousness that covers our heart and our vitals organs. Equip our feet with the peace of Your Good News that prepares us to go wherever we are summoned. Remind us that it is our faith in You that shields us from the fiery attacks of the enemy and Your salvation that covers our head and our mind to think right.

Help us, Holy Spirit, to realize that we cannot go into battle on the offensive for the Kingdom of God without a weapon. Help us to see that this weapon is Your sword, the Word You breathed. Remind us that even Jesus used it in the wilderness to route the enemy when He could have called down legions of angels to do it instead. Give us a firm grasp of Your Word. Help us to prepare and study the Word in times of peace for mastery and victory in times of trial.

Father God, keep us praying at all times for all details, big and small, in the power of the Holy Spirit. With this in mind, keep us from falling asleep spiritually, focused only on ourselves rather than on all Your children everywhere. Remind us of our calling and give us the right words in every situation to make known the mystery of Your Good News fearlessly. Keep us from losing heart in the work You have ordained for us. Give us Your peace, Your love with faith, and Your grace as we grow in our undying love for our Lord Jesus. -Amen!
