Genesis Thirty-six

G

Father God, forgive us for all the times we turn our backs on You and Your calling on our life. Help us to realize that You want to bless us so that we can be blessings to others in Your name. May we want to join ourselves to Your family and Your purposes instead of trying to do the opposite.

Lord Jesus, You are the only King of kings and Lord of lords who rules supreme. You are coming to judge the living and the dead. Keep us from trying to establish our own earthly kingdoms; help us to build Your kingdom instead. Prevent us from trying to spiritually make ourselves at home in places that we know will eventually be destroyed. May we and every generation that comes after us pledge our allegiance to You and You alone.

Holy Spirit, we confess that we often make decisions without Your will and Your word in mind. We do what seems right in our own eyes and equate earthly success to heavenly favor. Show us what submission to You looks like as we go about our daily life.

Father, Son, and Spirit, keep us from building legacies that might be remembered by people here on earth, only to be forgotten by You. May everything we do be for Your kingdom and Your glory alone!
